Manyo No Sato Japanese Maple
Acer palmatum 'Manyo No Sato'
This special gem, originally introduced in 1993 by the renowned Yutaka Tunaka from Tsukasa Maple in Tokyo, is a true specimen to feature in your landscape. Manyo-No-Sato produces unique leaves in early Spring with variegation of dark purple and light green. Like other Japanese maples, this variety is prized for its unique leaf variegation and makes for a great specimen piece. They are slow growing and very dense making it great for small gardens or containers. What’s more is that this cultivars hardiness and sun tolerance. Growing in zones 5 through 9, the Manyo-No-Sato’s palmate leaves tolerate full sun to partial shade. In the fall when their leaves change from green to bright orange and red, the beautiful bark hidden year round is finally uncovered and creates a wonderful winter interest. This tree reaches a mature height of 8 feet by 4 feet wide.
