Syringa vulgaris 'Mme. Lemoine'

Highly renowned for being one of the best white lilacs, the Madame Lemoine Lilac, named after the French Hybridizer Victor Lemoine, features an upright growth habit in which its showy flowerheads flaunt fragrant, double bloomed white flowers. The bloom time happens in late spring and they last for about a month making for a spectacular display of snow white blooms. Its deciduous nature brings back light green, valentine heart leaves each year that last through the summer giving this plant a multi seasonal interest. Because of its dramatic spring blooms, it is perfect in perennial borders that create flower hedges or foundation plantings. You can even feature it as a specimen plant or grow them in containers! With its generally loose habit it can reach upwards of 8 feet high and spread around 8 feet in width. Lilac loves direct sunlight and is fond of well drained, non-acidic soils. The best zones to feature this plant are in gardens and landscapes with mixed borders in zones 4 through 7.
