Rhododendron x 'Kalinka' (H-2)

 

Compact, robust and unique, the Kalinka Rhododendron blooms in late spring producing a plethora of floral clusters sporting hot pink blushed with white blooms. Contrasting lovely against the evergreen foliage, its cup shaped flowers can be used in floral arrangements and pair nicely with hydrangeas and azaleas alike to other shade loving plants. Reaching a mature height and width of 4feet, it is best suited in zones 5 through 9. It can be grown for any landscape or garden application including hedging, accent planting, or specimen features. It requires full shade to thrive so it would do joyously under taller shade-creating trees or other shaded areas around your garden landscape.

 

Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting Rhododendron as they prefer less watering than you might think. In clay soil we prefer planting with pine bark soil conditioner for Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel,  Azalea.
