Hosta, 'Fire Island'

Fire Island Hosta has reddish stems and bright yellow leaves. It is a medium sized grower for a shady moist spot.

Hosta have several edible parts. It is a part of the asparagus family, and is a particularly delicious vegetable seen more in Asianic cuisines than American. Please do your own research, allergy test, and consume at your own risk.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

Hosta likes a lot of moisture when growing and very little direct sun. I like to plant these in groups and with other types of hosta and some nice shade shrubs.
