Rhamnus frangula 'Ron Williams' USPP 14,791

Versatile, eye-catching, and robust. The Fire Line Buckthorn obtains several desirable attributes from different species such as its long grassy texture, columnar growth habit, and soft, bushy appearance. A staple among landscapes for its decorative appeal and many uses for accents, hedging functions, and even specimen containers to liven up an empty paito space. It is highly valued in both home and commercial landscaping as an architectural plant used to frame doors and paths, meanwhile creating year-round interest with its long “fine” leafy appeal. Because of its columnar habit, the majority of its growth tends to shoot upwards up around 7 ft, although it sprawls slowly to be about 3 ft in width. Another reason why the Fine Line Buckthorn is so versatile in landscaping, is because of its adaptability in not just soils, but also in different temperature extremes. You can plant with confidence and rest easy upon doing so because this mighty “overgrown lettuce” requires little maintenance and attention after being established. Faring very well in colder, more inhospitable temperatures as far into the north as zone 3 and south through zone 7, the resourcefulness of this hardy shrub is vast. You will not be disappointed wherever you decide to place this addition to your garden.

Buckthorn will begin shipping on February 10, 2022.
