Chaenomeles Speciosa 'Pink Storm' Quince  PP#20920

Heavy flowering of large double pink blooms are the hallmark of the Double Take™ Pink Storm Quince. This low maintenance shrub looks great as a mass planting, as a mixed border accent or a container plant. Blooms look best when planted in full sun. Drought tolerant after established, this plant also does not produce thorns or fruit. Prune after flowering to maintain a dense look.

Quince has edible parts (read: flowers)--even these non-fruiting types. They are a part of the rose and apple family of plants, both of which are also known for their tasty edibility. Please do your own research on how you wish to utilize this shrub, keeping in mind allergies, and use at your own risk.

Joseph's Take

Joseph's Take

Quince generally bloom very early around the same time as the Forsythia.  I'm always excited when I see blooms as I know spring is just around the corner!  Sometimes, if your eye is a bit creative, the Double take Quince blooms can look like Camellia blooms.  In general, the plant is extremely low maintenance.

Brightly colored Quice are a perfect addition for Chinese New Year as they bloom very early.
