Amersfoort English Yew
Taxus baccata 'Amersfoort'
Unique, reliable, and striking. Unlike most of the other yews we offer, the Amersfoort Yew features much smaller, rounded leaves as opposed to long needle-like variants. Faring well in zones 6-8, it grows upright forming fully encased leafed-branches from its base. Slowly growing to around 4 feet high and 2 feet wide, there really is nothing like its contemporary architectural growth habit. The way it seems to form individual columns and hold its appearance is enough to bring interest and character to your landscape as a specimen but can be mass planted along a path or border to create a hedge. It is much more responsive to temperature extremes so specimen plantings would be most suitable for this special shrub.
